The Pickering Red Sox will under go a bit of a change in 2018, for the first time in over 20 years the trio of Steve Horsley, Mark Cheeseman, and Jeff Fox will not be taking the field with their teammates.  The trio decided to retire this year and go out the same way they came into the league, together.  It goes without saying that the Sox will miss what the trio not only brings to the field but the dug out as well.  Also not returning will be Mat Wilson, Duncan Watt, and Ryan Turner, all three will be missed as well.

For the upcoming 2018 the Sox will be participating in two tournaments (Ottawa and COBA), the annual Elimination tournament in Windsor, as well as the 25 game regular GTBL schedule.  With the openings on the roster for this season the Sox would like to introduce then new Sox players for this season.

Avi Anantharajah:  Avi comes to the Sox from McGill University where Avi was part of the pitching staff, he also played in the PBA system growing up.  Look for Avi to sped alot of time on the mound for the Sox.

Nicholas Greenslade: Nick comes to the Sox from the OUA champion U of T Blues where he spent time patrolling the outfield, he also play minor ball in the Ajax system.  Nick will add depth i the outfield and provide some much needed speed on the base paths.

Matt Melissis: Matt comes to the Sox after stops in BC and Austrailia, look for the infielder to provide a steady bat in the Sox order.  He also played a season against the Sox (formerly Markham Mariners) with the Whitby Canadians.

Carlos Perez: Carlos comes to the Sox from Erie Community College, look for Carlos to log lots of innings on the mound for the Sox.

Billy Sloat:  After a couple years off from ball Billy returns to the Red Sox, but not the ones he played for in Tillsonberg.  The former Brock Badger with spend time at the corners for the Sox and provide a steady bat.

Jeremy Marinelli: Jeremy joins the Sox after coming up in the Sox system,  he will play numerous positions around the diamond for the Sox.    He will also provide alot of energy in the dugout.
