The Sox travelled to Talbot to take on the Leaside Leafs to open the 2018 season, taking the ball for the Sox was veteran Brad Binns.  The Sox jumped out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to a Jesse Dynes SAC fly and a Denis Hucal RBI single.  But the Leafs responded by tying the game in the bottom of the 2nd when starter Brad Binns walked the first two batters of the inning and both came aroud to score.  The score remind tied until Steve Correia scored Peter Ricciardi's from 2nd (hit a 2 out double) on a RBI single.  The Sox would go on the add an insurance run in the 9th on Denis Hucal's 2nd RBI single of the game.  From there Peter Nash shut the door in the bottom of the ninth recording his first save of the season.  Sandwiched between Binns and Nash were newcomer Avi Ananthrajah who saw his Sox debut and pitched quite well over 3 innings  giving up 0 runs and 3 hits as he picked up the win and Matt Krettek 1 clean inning as well.  Next up for the Sox is their home opener on May 16th as the Newmarket Hawks come to town.
