Wednesday night saw great weather in Pickering for the Leaside/Pickering match-up, and it also saw great starting pitching.

Shaun Slemko got the start for Pickering in this one, and was very strong, allowing only 2 runs, both earned over 6 innings to pick up a quality start.  Jorge Frugoni was excellent for Leaside, and for the second game in a row, the Red Sox were no-hit into the 7th inning.

Unlike Monday night against East York, the Sox were able to rally, putting up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, to move out in front 4-3.  The key knock for the Sox in this one was a pinch-hit, two run single by Ilya Bozinovski, who continues to round into form after an offseason clean-up procedure on his knee.

The lead was short-lived, as Leaside answered right back with four runs of their own, to re-take the lead, 7-4.  Pickering was able to push one across in the bottom of the 8th - and both teams managed to put up zeros in the 9th inning (Sean Molony made his pitching debut for the Sox in the top of the 9th, pitching a scoreless frame with 2 punch-outs) for the game to finish 7-5 for the Leafs.

The Red Sox have now lost 4 in a row to fall to 2-4 on the young season.  They get a week off, before travelling to Thornhill for a rare road game on Wednesday, May 30th.  First pitch is set for 7:30pm.
