On a beautiful Saturday night in Newmarket, Pickering travelled and ultimately fell flat in a 4-1 loss at the Fairgrounds.

Dan Connolly got the start on the mound for Pickering - and he efficiently worked five strong innings, allowing only 1 run - which was unearned.  Unfortunately for the Red Sox - they couldn't muster much of an offensive attack against multiple Newmarket arms, scoring 1 run on 6 hits over the course of the entire ballgame.

Newmarket pulled ahead and broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 7th inning, managing to scratch across a run off of P Peter Nash, and unfortunately for the Red Sox, they never looked back as Tyler Plumpton pitched the final two frames, holding Pickering off of the scoreboard.

  • Pickering pitchers combined to allow 1 ER across 8 innings of work.
  • Next up: Wednesday, June 6th vs. East York
  • SS/OF Andre Steer missed this game as it turns out him leaving last game was not just from him being old - but he had in fact suffered a hamstring injury.  On behalf of our editors, we apologise to Andre.
