The Pickering Red Sox have started the year on a 3 game losing streak despite playing some decent baseball. In two of the 3 games one inning has been their downfall.

The season started out with a trip to Kendal to play the Eagles. A back and forth affair saw the Red Sox collect 12 hits including a Glenn Reeves homerun.  The game saw some impressive debuts for the team with Ryan Clark pitching 3 innings and Mike Foster collecting 2 hits.  Unfortunately the Eagles came out on top 7-5 in the season opener.

The second game of the year saw the Red Sox give up 6 runs in the 6th inning to lose to the East York Bulldogs 9-4. The Red Sox scored 4 runs in the first inning but could not muster another hit against two EY pitchers.  Chris Trudell took the loss in relief.

The third game of the year saw the Red Sox take on the Thornhill Reds. Once again one inning was the downfall as errors dominated the inning the Reds scored 5 in the 4th.  The Red Sox kept fighting but ultimately came up short losing 7-5.

The Senior Sox are back at it again on Monday when they travel to East York for a double header starting at 6pm.
