The Pickering Red Sox split their recent double dip in East York losing the first 5-3 and winning the second by a score of 9-4.
In the first game, the Red Sox fell behind early and despite a late charge came up short. Ryan Clark pitched 4 innings and took the loss. Mark Cheeseman worked 2 innings in relief. Offensively the Sox were led by Eric Wilton who had 2 hits. Jesse Dynes, Matt Krettek and Mike Rodriguez all had a hit a piece.
In the second game, the Red Sox got a strong pitching performance by Brad Binns who pitched 5 innings to get the first win of the season. Sean Slemko pitched 2 innings in relief. Offensively, Jesse Dynes led the offence with 2 hits including a massive homerun, the 121rst of his career. Steve Correia, Rodriguez and Wilton all contributed with a hit a piece. Andre Steer had 3 stolen bases in his first appearance of the season.
The Red Sox next game is versus the Martingrove White Sox at home Wednesday night at Don Beer.
