The Pickering Red Sox had 3 games this week in tune up for next weekends Senior Eliminations in Windsor for a chance to represent Ontario at Nationals.  The Red Sox continued to play good baseball winning all 3 games against 3 quality opponents.

The first game saw the Red Sox travel to Thornhill to take on the second place Reds.  The Red Sox jumped out early and hung on for a 9-7 win.  Brad Binns pitched 5 solid innings only giving up 1 run and picking up the win.  Ryan Clark and Corey Jeffrey shared the pitching duties for the rest of the game and held off the charging Reds.  Sean Molony broke out and knocked off 4 hits and getting 3 rbi's to lead the Sox offense.  Jeremy Marinelli had 2 hits and made a spectacular diving catch in right field to start the game and set the tone. 

The second game of the week saw the Red Sox travel to Leaside to take on their first round eliminations opponent.  The Sox once again jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back again in winning 13-5.  Peter Nash pitched 4 solid innings.  Sean Slemko picked up the win in relief going 3 innings and Chris Trudell and Molony each pitched an inning to preserve the win.  Offensively, the team was led by player/coach Reg Dunlop who had 4 hits on the night.  Glenn Reeves also had 4 hits, scored 4 runs and had 2 rbi's to help the offense.  Jesse Dynes had another great night with 3 hits including a double and a homerun onto Eglinton Ave.  as well as 5 rbi. 

The final game of the week saw the Red Sox travel to Newmarket on a beautiful Saturday night to take on the first place Hawks.  The Red Sox once again jumped out to an early lead and held on to beat the Hawks 7-6 in a tightly fought contest.  Ryan Clark pitched 5 solid innings for the win.  Chris Trudell and Corey Jeffrey pitched two innings a piece to hold onto the victory.  Offensively the team was lead by Jesse Dynes who had another 4 hit night.  Denis Hucal and Sean Molony both contributed 2 hits a piece. 

The Red Sox are off until Friday morning when they head to Windsor for the annual Eliminations Tournament.  They face a familiar foe in the Leaside Leafs to kick of the double elimination tournament.
